Thrilling Thailand
Thailand
Official name of the country is the Kingdom of Thailand but earlier it was known as Siam. Thailand is always welcoming, amazing and adored around the world because of its cuisine and nice travel destinations including mega city Bangkok and very beautiful sea beaches of Koh Samui, Phi – Phi Island, Phuket, and Pattaya. People are nice and hospitable and that’s why many people also used to call “The Land of Smile”. Throughout the year Travel to Thailand is affordable and this beautiful and bustling country has many things to offer for all kinds of tourists.
Where to go –
Bangkok
Before visiting Thailand I was always curious how the country would be but after arriving at the Bangkok international airport, I was amazed to see everything including overcrowding at the airport with a lot of tourists. Every year millions of tourists visit Bangkok and it is very popular and one of the favourite destinations among the tourists. This is a mega city, most populous, well developed, and the capital of Thailand. The city is full of beautiful and colourful monuments. Bangkok is a shopping friendly destination and a lot of mega malls and departmental stores are there which provides mid-range to luxury level shopping experience. During the trip it’s great to have Thai massage which is not so expensive. There are a lot of spa and massage centres you can see around the city.
Places you must visit in Bangkok
There are many great places in Bangkok, and it all depends on you how much you have time and budget but some of the major attractions I would like to recommend are where you can go. The Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Wat Phra Si Rattana, Khaosan Road, Lumphini Park, Asiatique, and many nearby areas you can visit. You must do boating also in Chao Pharaya River in Bangkok and you can have a nice view of the main city.
Markets and shopping malls where you must visit in Bangkok
Local markets like Chatuchak Weekend Market, Pratunam Market, Sampeng Market, Yaowarat and Phahurat night markets are also very famous and good for shopping.
Phuket
In my opinion it’s very hard to compare Pattaya and Phuket and whatever you will find, everything is available in both cities but the major difference which I can see is Phuket is the largest island in southern Thailand and Pattaya is a coastal city on the gulf of Thailand. In both places you can find nightlife, bustling restaurants and cafés but Phuket is the best if you want to see better sea and some of the most beautiful islands including Phi-Phi which is nearby.
Places you must visit in Phuket
Phuket is very famous for its sea beaches and nightlife. Big Buddha (45 meters tall and made by Burmese white marble) is one of the major landmarks which is located on the top of Nakkerd Hills. Along with that you can have a spectacular view of the island. There are a total 10 viewpoints in Phuket but apart from this you can visit Kata viewpoint also. Wat Karon is also good to visit which is not so far from Karon beach. Some of the beautiful beaches – Kata Noi, Karon, Kata, Nai Han, and Patong where you must visit. Patong is also famous for nightlife and one of the main tourist sections and the area is full of busy streets, crowded beaches, resorts, restaurants, and bars. If budget allow then you can visit many more places like national parks, elephant sanctuary, waterfalls, and tiger
What to eat –
Thailand is a food heaven and a variety of foods are available for everyone. Thai food is culture oriented, generous, warm, refreshing and relaxed. Mostly the food is made with local ingredients and also very fresh and four fundamental flavours you can feel which are spicy, sweet, salty, and sour. Some of the best Thai foods you must try during the trip to Thailand like Pad Thai, Khao Pad, seafood, Tom Yum soup, Thai curry etc. Apart from this you can try some of the local street foods which are clean. At the end Bangkok is perhaps best of all, and it has got to be one of the best-value dining destinations in the world.
