A very unique island and the world’s lowest country which is located in Indian Ocean in South Asia. This is the smallest country by area and population in Asia. Its population is around 341,256. The roots of Maldivian people are from Arabs, India, Sri Lanka, Malays, and Northern Africa. Maldivians are basically mixed race which make it diverse in their culture and history. Earlier it was a Buddhist country and many ruined things are remaining which connects Buddhism in the past to the country. Maldivians adopted Islam in 1153 AD and most of the people follow Sunni Islam now.
